I was going to go through Sonic Advance when I had the time, so here goes nothing. As you know Sonic Advance was released in 2002. It was one of the modern era Sonic games. As you know SEGA had changed the characters designs a little. Not that much but the characters had been updated as their original designs had been around for quite some time and SEGA really wanted to compete with other games. By 2002 Sonic games were all third-party. They were released on the Nintendo Game Boy Advance.

Ill choose Amy Rose. She was quite new to the character line up. Meaning a playable character who can actually move without using a car. Based upon her appearance in Sonic Adventure. It was basically like what happened next. Although the only difference is in the first Sonic Advance the characters could NOT speak. The first Sonic Advance game pretty much followed the original Sonic games. The next two games to follow would allow the characters to speak. Although there is no story to the game. For the story you need the manual, and only the images and sprite animation in the game explain what is exactly going on, you know like the original Sonic games. If you didnt have a manual youd have to guess what was going on. Amy Rose is the only character who wears clothes, meaning Sonic, Knuckles and Tails are all nude. At least this newer Amy is wearing underwear, check out Sonic the Fighters if you dont believe. Oh, Japan...anything for a panty shot!!!

I never understood the special stages in Sonic Advance. They were just too hard. In each and every Sonic game to grace us SEGA always tweak or add a brand new special stage. Some suck and some are awesome. The aim is to collect the Chaos Emeralds. In all honesty, it just aint going to happen. The movement...is too stiff, not to mention that you have to flip to obtain the rings.

Angel Island is back again. Knuckles appears, its obvious he is fake...just look at the yellow gloves. He turns out to be a robot after the first battle. Makes a difference from Metal Sonic.

The characters have a ton of animations. I think SEGA just used them again for the next games to follow and made even more. One of Amys poses is a reference to Sonic CD.

SEGA decided to make Eggman use his old tricks, from Sonic 2. Another old reference. The story is quite simple, Eggy doesnt have much imagination so he is using some of his old machines. If they failed once...they are bound to fail again, how stupid is he?

And again...with the stupid drill machine. Amy lacks, what Sonic, Tails and Knuckles has. Which is the spin dash attack. She can spin with her hammer but it makes her harder to use in battle.

Eggys final machine is more advanced and is the hardest out of all three.

After Eggman is defeated Amy will jump down from space. Im surprised she didnt suffocate. Shell fall straight onto a plane. Youll never guess who has came to save her? SONIC!? Sonic claims he doesnt like being around Amy but why would he go to all the trouble to save her? Usually Tails does the flying. But according to Sonic Adventure, both Sonic and Tails own planes of their own and the Tornado is actually Sonics plane. Tails, just lends it. Which is why Tails built the Tornado II in Sonic Adventure. Its all adding up now.

Amy will then wave to all the birds flying in the sky. It makes a big difference a female saving the day. To be honest I think her story was a little more toned down in Sonic Advance, always having to run from that annoying green robot.

Amy will then do a classic Sonic jump. A jump in which was featured in several of the original Sonic games and the game will go on to thank you for playing.
