What I thought Now this is more like it! After having to drag my enthusiasm through the last 3-4 episodes of Rebels, we have a solid half hour of entertainment. Boy oh boy this was an amusing episode. Sure, it had absolutely very little to do with the main arc of Season 3; there was no Maul, no Thrawn, no Rebel fleet hanging about or even any Empire turning up. Star Wars Rebels S03E20 Twin Suns Synopsis Reacting to a vision of Maul, Ezra defies Hera and Kanan to travel to a remote planet in hopes of stopping the former Sith lord from carrying out his plans. (S3 Ep20). What I thought Since Obi-Wans name was mentioned earlier on in this season, the anticipation of more Kenobi has been palatable. We have known it was coming now for a while, our juice buds salivating over seeing everyone�s favourite master Jedi once more. Would the Maul/Ezra confrontation with old Ben live up to everyone�s nostalgic and expected beliefs? Largely it succeeded. Sure, everyone would want as much Kenobi as possible and thus it would be hard to deliver something that would appease everyone in this episode yet somehow almost every tick-box was well and firmly checked in terms of A New Hope tie-ins and Obi-Wan, as well as putting an end well and firmly to the Maul arc. Star Wars Rebels S03E05 Heras Heroes Synopsis "Heras rebel supply mission to Ryloth becomes personal when she and the Ghost crew brave overwhelming Imperial forces to recover a memento from her ancestral home." What I thought? I wasnt really looking forward to this Hera episode. Shes not my favourite character but overall this wasnt anywhere near as bad as I feared. There were however numerous ridiculous moments during various battle scenes that, even though this is a cartoon, I couldnt overlook as there were just too many "What?" moments; Weve stormtroopers missing from close range, animals outrunning those speedbikes, a rocket launcher being used to knock a portion of cliff off when they could have taken out the Imperial walker and Kanan suddenly a blind jedi ninja. Star Wars Rebels S03E15 Trials of the Darksaber What I thought Well, I wasn�t looking forward to this episode, or the next one, which is basically a part two to this one. I�m not excited about Mandalorian culture or history, aside from that they look cool and have fantastic gadgets. Sabine for me has been the weakest character in the show in terms of personality and development. She seems to be there to make up the numbers most of the time, or to occasionally kick-ass and be a chum for Ezra. Perhaps that�s all about the change now, as we have her reluctantly take up the mantle to train to use the darksabre and liberate her people. This whole episode is about that training. Sure, she�s initially convinced to do it rather too easily for me, but a show trying to convince someone to do something wouldn�t have been very interesting, so perhaps it�s good they skipped that one on quickly. Star Wars Rebels S03E10 An Inside Man "Seeking information on a new Imperial weapon, Ezra and Kanan infiltrate the Imperial factory on Lothal, but they must trust an unlikely ally to escape a lockdown of the building." What I thought Well, this is considerably better than most of Series 3 so far but no where near as fun as last week, although I dont really want every episode to be a comedy like the previous episode was. This week was much tamer and a return for Thrawn to continue his long calculating game of learning and luring the Rebels into a deadly trap. Thankfully he was much more prominent than any usual token "This is all my plan" scene, as he had lots of screen time and some interesting reveals into his nature, including deliberately luring a mechanic to his death, ousting another dodgy mechanic as a traitor, and showing us a room full of his calculating clues that hes learned.
