Steve Jobs does for tech how Willy Wonka did for chocolate

Steve Jobs does for tech how Willy Wonka did for chocolate The Wizard of Cupertino has spoken and introduced us to yet more technical marvels .  What I find most interesting about about Steve Jobs special events , is that I get so excited about getting excited about technology.I am not a traditional Apple devotee . I do not attend the daily techno mass at the local Apple Temple  , and yet  this year I contributed to the 50%  of Apple sales that are now due to Apple first timers ! This was almost entirely due to Steve Jobs presenting his products in his own personal style . So  here I am avidly watching the September live Stream from the Apple store website.  And it comes to me , is  Roald Dahl`s Willy Wonka and his Chocolate factory the secret to Steve Jobs success?  It helps to familiarise yourself with   Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before you continue reading this entry.Face time  your parents now if they did not buy or read...

Steve Jobs was wrong on Flash

Steve Jobs was wrong on Flash With Adobes recent announcement that they will discontinue supporting Flash on mobile devices, a lot of people are declaring that Jobs was right on Flash. I say he was wrong and heres why. Before we really start, lets set the record straight about Flash. Flash allowed web developers to do things that where impossible in HTML. This was good, but many developers got carried away and created monstrosities, building websites void of HTML and completely annoying to use. This gave Flash a bad name amongst real web developers who saw it as a cop-out for developers. However it allowed games and videos to exist in a space where it would have otherwise to deliver such content. As HTML5 has been rolled out amongst every major browser web developers have been looking forward to the death of Flash. I fall in the "death to Flash" camp, but I still believe Jobs was wrong. Computing is a user-centric experience. If the computer isnt doing what the user wants, th...

Steve Jobs health

Steve Jobs health I found this a rather remarkable little article about Steve Jobs health. Theres been speculation about whether he might have cancer again ever since he appeared at his latest keynote looking gaunt. Joe Nocera from NYTimes summarizes that state of knowledge on the subject in an article, and then concludes by saying that he got a call from Jobs himself: On Thursday afternoon, several hours after Id gotten my final Steves health is a private matter and much to my amazement Mr. Jobs called me. This is Steve Jobs, he began. You think Im an arrogant [expletive] who thinks hes above the law, and I think youre a slime bucket who gets most of his facts wrong. After that rather arresting opening, he went on to say that he would give me some details about his recent health problems, but only if I would agree to keep them off the record. I tried to argue him out of it, but he said he wouldnt talk if I insisted on an on-the-record conversation. So I agreed. Read th...
