Sound problem in Jaunty

Sound problem in Jaunty I did a complete reformat of my laptop and put Kubuntu on it. I tried an upgrade from Intrepid, but I think that putting 8.02 on it made the update go not-so-smooth because there was a lot of breakage, and 8.02 didnt run so well anyhow on Intrepid. So a reinstall gave me a very stable laptop that runs great, except that sound only worked through Amarok. Everything else gave some weird fuzzy sound. A quick Google search revealed the following fix. alsamixer -Dhw I then simply increased the volume on the sound devices that where completely turned down and now I have sound from all other applications, like Miro and Flash-based software. asdf download file now

Sozi version problem Sozi svg produces this error message.  A quick goggling led me to the solution in the Sozi authors git and alxsal found a work-around. Here I simply just noted down a maybe clear step-by-step solution. From the error message, this seems to be a problem of version inconsistency. So, the first step is to open the svg file with a text editor. I used gedit to edit svg file. In the gedit, I then used search to find the keyword, "version". I found two places with this keyword, where another keyword "sozi" is nearby. There may be more places containing the version number, depending on how the svg document is edited, I guess. Below is a screenshot of the place I found the version number in the svg document. So now I got the version number in the edited document, which should be produced by the Sozi in my office machine.
