Song Bird Media player for Ubuntu




Songbird� and Nightingale (which is a fork from it) are desktop Web-players, digital jukebox and Web browser mash-up. Like Winamp, they support extensions and skins feathers. Like Firefox�, it is built from Mozilla�, cross-platform and open source.



Currently SongBird is not officially supported for Linux systems, but thanks to Getdeb community we can enjoy a Debian version built using the Open-source code of SongBird.


Heres how you can install Song-Bird for Ubuntu

  • First Install the GetDeb package from Getdeb.com
  • Update repository by typing in these commands in the terminal:    sudo apt-get update
  • Install SongBird by typing in:   sudo apt-get install songbird

Sorry Mutter closed unexpectedly on Ubuntu 10 10 I am just exploring and understanding various features on Ubuntu 10.10 netbook. I install it on a usb stick and running from it. I am not sure what cause this problem. But I think after closing a window suddenly a message appear and says Sorry, Mutter closed unexpectedly This message box also include a request. It say If you were not doing anything confidential (entering passwords or other private information, you can help to improve the application by reporting the problem.
